Meditation & mindfulness

I spend quite a lot of time meditating. Freeing up my mind to make room for the day ahead or letting go of the day past.

Giving time to yourself or others is perhaps the greatest gift of all. It is the one thing you can never get back.

Highly recommended and it doesn't have to be a weird ritual with uncomfortable positions and whatnot. The opposite is true!

Make yourself comfortable. Pick a quiet spot in your home. Be in silence, see your thoughts wander by. Be kind to yourself. Take your time. You deserve it!

The internet is full of tips, guided meditations, mindfulness exercises, soft music, nature sounds. Seek out what is comfortable to you and tune out of what is in the past or lies ahead. Give yourself the opportunity to be in the now.

See you on the flipside!

  1. Thanks! I have used meditation the last few nights to help me get to sleep. All I need now is to stay asleep...

    1. What is it that wakes you? The end of an REM cycle can sometimes have that effect. Are you experiencing vivid dreams?

If what wakes you are things ahead, then try following: before beginning your sleep meditation, write down a list of your to-do's. While writing them down state your clear intention that you will attend to these after a good night's sleep. At the start of meditation re-affirm your intention and consciously clear your mind of any clutter. Let go of all and focus on your breathing. Should your mind wander of, then gently and kindly dismiss the thought and go back to your breath.
If at night you do wake up, remember your intention and be kind to yourself. Be happy for the thought to appear and remembering you of it's importance and re-affirm you will take to it in due time.
