Between reading The Book of Life and Julie Starr's The Coaching Manual I have fallen short of publishing anything new on here.
It has given me some time however to contemplate over the form of this blog and where to go from here. You see, Dutch is my native language and some of the stuff I'm about to write down is going to be very personal. The only way to convey this is to stay true to myself and express myself as close to my soul as possible, without the obvious language barrier hanging over my head.
So, once in a while you'll get me talking some Dutch gibberish on here as you watch me grow as a writer, providing better content for this blog.
That being said, there's heaps going on. Little seeds planted, plans conjured and can't wait to share them as they come to fruition!

Wait, that doesn't sound like me!?
OK, so I've been thinking (d'uh) about yesterday's post.
What if someone reads it and doesn't relate to the message?
Well, for one we are all unique individuals. We all have our very own mindset and most of us feel uncomfortable being boxed in. I know I do! Secondly, each individual has a different set of primary character properties which result in different psychological profiles. Even I had to acknowledge that!
This is why group therapy only tends to work with people with comparing profiles. I should know, I've been in therapy extensively.
So I thought of clearing this up before moving forward. It would be foolish of me to believe I could reach out to everyone when in fact I can at most reach out to people with a similar profile.
Another thing I would highly recommend to anyone reading this is the following:
If you have any questions, issues or other please schedule an appointment with your G.P. or any general practioner or if possible your local mental health clinic.
There are several in my home town and I will provide links to them as soon as I can. Posting this from my phone, so evidently not the most convenient to look up links and provide you with an easy overview.

Sound familiar?
Wow, my first entry. I'm anxious, yet excited. Nervous and exhilarated. Sound familiar?
"Sounds familiar"..I should probably have called my blog that before picking my brain trying to come up with a name that suited it's content. Then again, I'm a spur of the moment kinda guy (should I have kept that a secret?).
Back to "Sounds familiar" though. This happens to me all the time. I enter a conversation and suddenly I hear these things of which I thought I was the only one. Do you get that? I bet you do. I bet everybody does.
Yet, there are times I truly feel alone with my thoughts. I get caught up in them. I get caught up in them so much that I actually forget. I forget how important it can be to share, to soundboard. I forget how relieving the acknowledgement of others can be on myself.
So there I am, alone with my thoughts as they start to weigh on me. I start more thinking. Thinking on the thinking.
"I should mingle.", "I should get more active.", "I should start yoga, meditation, mindfulness, eat healthy, stop drinking.", the list goes on. With all that thinking, with all those "I should"'s I put so much pressure on myself I actually feel overwhelmed causing me to crawl back into a corner to overthink what I just thought.
Sound familiar?
Mind you, all the stuff I mentioned helps me. It helps me to center, to keep focus and stay healthy. But the single most important thing I, or anyone, can do is simply to open my mouth.
You'd be surprised how often I get a "sounds familiar!" back. Letting me know I'm not alone in this.
So, I am here to tell you. You are not alone in this!
